Find Books

To search our print and eBooks collections for books, you need to use DISCOVERY

Remember to use keywords related to your topic or area of study to get the results you want.

 

Librarian Tip:

To limit your search results to just books, use the 'Add/Remove Databases >>' button to deselect the following:

  • Academic Search Complete
  • JSTOR Arts & Sciences II Collection

OR use the filters in the left hand column on the search results page.

Accessing E-Books

If you are off campus you will need to login with your NDNU credentials to view ebooks.


Accessing E-Books:

  • If an electronic copy of the book is available, click on the View eBook button on the search results page to access the ebook.

  • On the new screen, choose how you want to read this book. You can read online, download the full book for 21 days, or download a portion of it in PDF format.

 

You can also find ebooks by going to Ebook Central.

 

Finding Books in the Stacks


Locating the book in the library:

  • Check the Status of the item to see if the book is available for check-out.

  • Write down the Call Number, which tells you the location of your book in the library, and then head for the shelves!

  • Go to the stacks and find the shelf where it is located. 
     
  • Use the shelf-end signage to find the correct shelf.
     
  • Look at the spine labels on the books to find a matching call number.
