Library Guide for International Students

Getting Started with Search@NDNU

Discovery is the Library’s new discovery service and search interface that searches for millions of books, journal articles, videos, and e-resources at once.

You can find the Discovery search box on library home page.

You can also go directly to the search interface url Once you are on the search interface site, you can quickly go back to the library’s homepage by click on the Library’s logo on the top left corner.

Basic Search

Using this new interface, you can search the collections of the Gellert Library as well as the collections of many other libraries worldwide. While WorldCat Local includes information about material in libraries worldwide, you always see items from our Library’s collections and links to our Library services first.

Simply enter your search terms in the search box on the homepage. The search results will include material relevant to your topic in various formats. Using this new interface you can locate library items, directly access electronic resources, and refine your search results by applying filters. For more information please view the following tutorial.

Advanced Search

Click on “Advanced Search” to search on keyword, title, author, subject, or ISBN/ISSN/OCLC Number, as well as to limit results by library, format, publication date, content, audience, or language.

When searching from the library homepage or the WorldCat Local page, you are accessing thousands of ebooks, our entire paper book collection, EBSCO’s general Academic Search Complete, and open access materials. You can select additional library databases to be searched through Discovery. To do this, click on "advanced search" below the search box.
