How to Cite

Now that you understand why citations are essential and what needs to be correctly cited, you are ready to learn how to cite.

There are 2 places where you need to cite: in the body of the paper (in-text) and in a list at the end (references or works cited).

Basics of Citation Formats

While doing your research, take good notes and make sure you have the 4 basics of citations:

  • Who
  • What
  • Where
  • When

Depending on the type of source you will need to make sure to get the correct details to describe where you found the information.
