LOAN PERIODS

Gellert Library is currently closed to in-person services until further notice. Books filed in the general Stacks and Education collections can be requested and picked up using our Curbside Service. All checked out books are due back at the library on the final day of the semester. 

 

Books

Undergraduate - 16 weeks

Graduate - 16 weeks

Doctoral - 16 weeks

Faculty - 16 weeks

Staff - 16 weeks

Credential - 4 weeks

Alumni - 4 weeks

Continuing Education - 4 weeks

*If a patron account expiration date occurs before the standard loan period per patron type, the expiration date will be used as the due date

 

Periodicals

Library use only - does not circulate outside of the library.

DVDs, CDs, and music scores

Various popular, academic, and documentary DVD videos - 7 days

Various music and sound recording CDs - 7 days

Course Reserves

Instructors who place material on course reserve determine the loan period and if the material can be taken outside the library or library use only; loan period per reserve item varies from 2-hours, 24 hours, and 7 days, and instructors determine whether material is library use only or if material can be taken outside the library.

All course reserves need to be returned to the circulation desk staff to avoid reserve overdue fines. Any course reserve items returned in the inside or outside book return may be subjected to reserve overdue fines - return reserve items directly to the circulation desk.

Course reserve items cannot be renewed. If another copy is available, the item can be checked out again. If no other copies are available, students need to wait 1-hour after the item was returned checking out the course reserve again.   

There is a limit of 5 course reserve items that can be checked out per patron at one time.

 

Reserve materials are filed behind the circulation desk and includes electronic devices, theses, games, and white board markers and erasers. There is a limit of 5 reserve items that can be checked out per patron at one time.

 

Electronic Devices

ChromeBooks (short term loan) - 5 hours 

ChromeBooks (long term loan) - 7 days *accompanied power cord & travel bag

Ipad - 5 hours

Headphones - 5 hours 

Calculators - 24 hours

Camera/Tripod - 3 days

Electronic devices cannot be renewed. If another device is available, the item can be checked out again. If no other devices are available, students need to wait 1-hour after the item was returned before checking out the device again.

Games
